August 2023
I pulled you in from all over the world, called you in from every dark corner of the earth, Telling you, ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side. I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.
- Isaiah 41:10 (The Message)
I think I’ve shared before that I love to open my Bible to a random page and see what God wants me to read that particular day. Sometimes the message is poignant, and sometimes I flip to a different page because the one I turned to is all about how many cubits the Temple is made of and I’m not sure what God’s trying to tell me there.
Today, rather than flipping open my physical Bible, I opened the Bible app on my phone and this verse from Isaiah was the “verse of the day.” Of all the thousands of verses in the Bible, this is the one I needed to hear today. I needed to be reminded that God hasn’t dropped me.
Maybe you need that reminder today, too.
God hasn’t dropped you. There’s no need to panic. On the days you feel weak, God will give you strength. On the days you feel like your spirit is dragging, God’s resilience will buoy you. On the days you feel unbalanced, God’s hand is there to hold you steady.
There’s no need to fear, for this is our God. The God who created you, who redeems you, and who will always sustain you.
With love,
Pastor Kelsey
P.S. Thank you for the warm welcome back! I love that Gabriel has gotten to meet so many of you, and am so grateful he has such a wide and wonderful church family!
